Romney campaign leaks emails supporting mandate, plan to rail on Obama for ditching it

Tuesday afternoon, PTP reported that Republicans are infuriated that President Obama is in secret talks to ditch the mandate element of the Affordable Care Act. And today, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is going a step further, insisting that if he's elected President, he'll make sure the mandate is put back in place should the United States Supreme Court rule against it later this month.
“Like I said yesterday, I pushed for a mandate in Massachusetts when I was Governor because the mandate is what's right for the health care industry in this great nation,” Mitt Romney explained at a press pool spray earlier. “Obama doesn't want the mandate, and that's why he sued over it and made the Supreme Court rule on it. That's an abuse of power in my book. So not only is Obama a socialist who hates our free markets, but he's a feckless, draconian dictator hellbent on ruining the American way of life. He needs to be stopped.”
“The media reported yesterday that as Governor, I pushed heavily for the mandate and made it a priority. I have a proven track record on this, unlike Czar Obama, who doesn't do anything that isn't in his little red book. I have every confidence that if you elect me as your next President, we'll get the mandate back into the Affordable Care Act by 2014. That's my pledge to the American people!
