Politicians find PTP on Facebook, realize the blue text is a link to a whole article

5/14/2012 10:02 AM Matt Rock - Capitol Hill has been buzzing these past few days about Pardon the Pundit – the website you're visiting right now – after Florida Congressman Allen West discovered articles containing his name after drawing his blinds and Googlebating for a few minutes on Thursday. Since then, dozens of politicians, famous and not-so-famous, have flocked to our site to see what all of the hubbub is about.

“I knew that PTP existed before Allen West told me about it. I saw it on Facebook. But I thought they were just bizarre headlines with a bunch of blue nonsense after the names,” said House Speaker John Boehner. “I didn't know those were links to whole articles written by a staff of comedians. That really explains a few things! I've been going around saying, matter-of-factly, that Mitt Romney's kids are cavemen, like those guys from the GEICO commercials. Boy was my face dark orange when I found out it was all political satire!”

Romney himself had also visited the site. “PTP is a satire website? Crap! I read a bunch of articles on that website, and totally believed they were real, just like some of your Facebook fans do on occasion! So wait... does that mean I'm `not' a mannequin-cyborg manufactured by Detroit to later model in Lands' End catalogs, a joke that comedians love to steal from PTP, not that they mind? Oh, all of that is true? Well, shucks! I guess I better go buy more surfer's wax then.”

Meanwhile, President Obama himself weighed in, having also discovered recently that we're a comedy website. “So let me get this straight. We let those guys into the White House. Matt Rock and Floyd Harden sat in the Oval Office with me for three hours once to discuss the Gadhafi story with me. And now, Jay Carney tells me the whole thing is a gag?! Seriously!? Okay... I'm not angry. PTP, if you're reading this, you guys can just go about your business. I'm not upset at all. And if you hear a weird buzzing sound tomorrow morning somewhere near that world headquarters of yours in DC, don't worry, that isn't a killer robot drone. It's probably just a lawnmower or a weed-whacker or something!”
