Romney celebrates D-Day anniversary with promise to re-invade Germany
6/6/2012 3:32 PM Matt Rock -
Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney announced today that if he's elected President in 2012, he plans to invade Germany by 2014. The former Massachusetts governor made the bizarre claim during an event honoring the anniversary of D-Day, when, on June 6th of 1944, Allied forces laid siege to Normandy, liberating France from German occupation shortly thereafter.
“We should never forget the sacrifice these brave soldiers made during the D-Day invasion,” Romney announced. “From Omaha Beach, to all the other beaches that no one seems to be able to name, these courageous soldiers fought valiantly in the name of Freedom. Thank you, all of you, for your service!”
the crowd applauded Romney's speech for a few moments, but after they calmed down, his latest public speaking gaffe poured out of him. “If you elect me to be your next Commander in Chief, I pledge that by the end of 2014, the United States and our allies will once again invade Germany. They're getting a little too socialist for my liking, as I'm sure you'll agree. We'll conquer Germany, and build some sort of fence... maybe a full-on wall... through Berlin, with the socialists on one side, and the capitalists on the other! That'll teach those pinko Obama supporters!”
Romney's campaign was quick to send out a message retracting the candidate's comments. “LOLZ wat a #dumfuck he luvz Amercia 4real hell be leet offical Prez up in dis biz!” - Return to Previous Page
