Casey Anthony nearly kills Piers Morgan 24 hours after CNN interview

CNN host Piers Morgan is under police protection this morning after an alleged attempt on his life last evening. Morgan claims he was leaving his Manhattan studio Wednesday at approximately 10:43 pm, when Casey Anthony, whom he interviewed briefly by phone on Tuesday, appeared “out of nowhere” in a parking ramp, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses, wielding a knife and “speaking in tongues.”
“Piers is lucky to be alive,” said his agent, at a press conference early this morning. “She swung her knife wildly at him, laughing and crying and ranting, but Piers was able to talk her down and make an escape. I would never say this otherwise, but for the first time in my entire life, I'm actually proud to know Piers Morgan.”
Morgan reportedly asked her why she was trying to kill him, how it made her feel, and what the public's perception of her might be like if she were successful, before asking if she'd be willing to come in an sit down for a special interview in his studio. Anthony was found by police three hours later, admitting to, then denying, then questioning, then denying again, the murder attempt.
CNN's board of directors released a brief statement with regards to the attack. “Piers Morgan getting murdered by Casey Anthony would pretty much be the highlight of his career, and it would definitely make a handful of people watch CNN for at least a few minutes, which would be the best ratings boost we've had in years. We're hoping to send Nancy Grace out to interview Anthony next. She's the only person at our network more worthless than Piers Morgan, and her loss would definitely be our gain!” - Return to Previous Page
