Mitt Romney speaks out on President Obama's recently-booed Red Sox joke

Earlier this afternoon, presumptive GOP presidential nominee and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney opened fire on President Obama's recent incendiary comment regarding the Boston Red Sox, where on Monday, President Obama joked with a crowd at a fundraiser event about how he was thankful that the Red Sox had traded Kevin Youkilis to the Chicago White Sox.
“The President proved to me, and I think a lot of other people too, that he's unfit for baseball, unfit for America, and unfit for the presidency,” Mitt Romney proclaimed, while speaking at a fundraiser event of his own in Boston. “Baseball is America's pastime. And I should know that, because I'm friends with the business leaders that own America, and baseball too for that matter!”
“Do you know why that audience booed Obama? It's because they know that his policies are leading us into a dark era of poverty and despair. A time when we can't aspire to buy a new yacht, because we're struggling to afford the yachts we already have. Heck, some folks even had to sell a yacht or two just to afford the maintenance bills on their Ferrari collections! Is that the sort of America we want to live in? Where our president smothers us with high taxes to pay for non-corporate welfare? An America where the President picks on your favorite baseball team? We can do better, America!”
“So vote for me, America. I won't pick favorites! I'll support the Red Sox, the White Sox, all of the Sox really. And also the Yankees, the Marlins, the Mets, the Phillies, the Cubs, the Reds, the Dodgers, the Orioles... if it's an animal, a color, or whatever the hell a `dodger' is, I've got your back!” - Return to Previous Page
