Obama admits that Beetlejuice has been involved in an advisory role in administration

7/14/2012 7:05 AM Matt Rock - Not long after Hollywood legend Michael Keaton told Grantland that President Obama once admitted to him that he was a fan of the iconic 1988 cult classic “Beetlejuice,” the Commander in Chief confirmed his appreciation of the film earlier today while speaking to a gaggle of reporters. But what Keaton didn't seem to realize – and what President Obama was hesitant to admit – is that Beetlejuice himself has been serving as a senior advisor inside Obama's White House since 2009.

“I was talking with Sasha and Malia about the movie, and I said his name three times out loud. And low and behold, there he was,” President Obama explained. “Michelle made me hire him on, because Lincoln and Dolley Madison kept haunting the kids. And the more I talked to him, the more I realized he'd be helpful with more serious, work-related tasks.”

“Betelgeuse [Beetlejuice] has proven himself to be an invaluable asset in extracting information from all the people I've had killed,” President Obama continued. “Osama Bin Laden, Muammar Gadhafi, Kim Jong... uh... err... `other people' I've iced... Betelgeuse is the best postmortem interrogator in the business. And it's really fun drunk-dialing [China Premier] Wen Jiabao at 3 am asking for an order of Kung Pow chicken with a guy like that egging you on.”

One reporter asked if there have been any downsides to having Beetlejuice around all of the time. “None really. I mean, when he gets peeved at me for one reason or another he'll sometimes get former Presidents to come nag me for not doing this or that, but on the whole, he's a really decent guy! I just hope he doesn't get too close to either of my daughters, and turn them into annoying goth shoplifters that can't act. And no matter how badly I want a second term, I'm not letting him marry either of my kids. He might be an experienced, otherworldly bio-exorcist, but I have SEAL Team Six in my circle. So yeah, probably not worth suggesting.”
