Betty White to make surprise appearance at DNC, talk to mannequin

Comedy legend Betty White will make a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday evening, according to PTP's sources in Hollywood. White, who endorsed President Obama in May of this year and has been a vocal supporter of his administration, will carry out a riveting conversation with a mannequin during her speech before introducing President Obama.
“Betty White is going to show Clint Eastwood how it's done,” said an anonymous talent agent. “He spent all that time talking to a chair. Betty is going to talk with a mannequin, and viewers will probably think Mitt Romney is actually standing next to her.”
However, some on the right are accusing White and the Democrats of racism with the mannequin stunt, pointing out that Romney himself is a mannequin. What's worse, the mannequin the Dems are planning to use during the event rolled out of the same factory that Romney himself was built in, leading many to speculate that Democrats can't tell wooden people apart.
“This isn't funny, not even remotely,” said Romney Campaign Manager Matt Rhoades. “Mitt Romney is proud of his heritage. He was built by Sears in the 1940's in a Detroit mannequin factory. There's nothing to be ashamed of in that. He has his `Made in the USA' certificate and an inspection certificate. That's a hell of a lot more than anyone can say for Obama.” - Return to Previous Page
