“Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!” Santorum team cries foul at Tea Party support for Michele Bachmann

Former Senator Rick Santorum's (R-PA) campaign staff has launched a new attack against fellow GOP candidate, Congresswomen Michelle Bachmann (R-MN). Observers admit the intra-party squabbles look a whole lot like sibling rivalry.
“We’ve been campaigning here forever. We have the organization. We have the correct ideology -- evolution was clearly a socialist, Marxist, anti-American idea, but wherever we go, all people want to talk about is Michele Bachmann,” said a campaign spokesman, “Did they not see the photo we sent to Newsweek? It was on the cover! They should see the craziness we see when we see her, well, anytime we see her, we see how crazy she is. I mean, really, the `Lightbulb Freedom of Choice Act?' What the hell was that? Are lightbulbs having abortions? ‘Cause that’s what I thought the ‘choice’ stuff was all about.”
The Bachmann campaign responded, “What is that guy’s problem? Doesn’t he know Congresswoman Bachmann’s been to his home-state? What happened to the beloved and worshipped ideas of President Reagan? He clearly said ‘No Republican should criticize other Republicans.'"
"Everytime Mr. Santorum says something mean about Congresswoman Bachmann, an angel loses his wings,” said a campaign press aide. “And it’s equally clear from his comments that Mr. Santorum does not truly understand the importance of the lightbulb choices of the American people. Poll after poll show they care more about that issue than all other issues combined. The American people refuse to have their lighting options limited by the government.”
Some Iowans said the back and forth between the two candidates looked more like they had a different connection. “The sexual tension between those two was off the chart,” said Tim Hatfield, Iowa native and caucus goer, “All I could think of during that debate was that those two need to get a room and work out there issues there.”
Florence Johnson added, “If I had thought the last ‘Sex and the City’ movie would have had even half the sexual tension I saw between those two, I might have gone to see it. I have lived in Iowa all my life and have seen many debates, but this was clearly the best. Dang, even ‘All My Children’ could learn a thing or two from these people.” - Return to Previous Page
