Osama Bin Laden's Secret Life Bidding on Penny Auction Sites
Facebook Facebook Facebook Facebook Facebook Facebook
5/5/2011 10:23 PM Javier - Along with the rest of the globe, the United States came to hear about the death of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the deadliest terror attack on American soil in its history, on May 1, 2011. In a nearly decade long manhunt, U.S. Navy SEALS and the CIA located Osama Bin Laden hiding within an expensive compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. He was shot and killed when the U.S. Navy Seals infiltrated the premises.

The United States accumulated major intelligence information from the compound in the form of computers, hard drives, memory sticks, and mobile phones. The evidence was sent to the FBI where intelligence agents began to sift through the coded and encrypted files. Besides uncovering several terrorist plots in the early stages of development, a wealth of information pertaining to the secret life of one of the most hated men on the planet was also uncovered. While the United States spent over a trillion dollars since the September 11th attacks, in part to hunt bin Laden down, bin Laden wasted his time in hiding--along with the bulk of his own family fortune--bidding endlessly on popular penny auction sites.

According to several insiders at the FBI, thousands of documents were discovered on thumb drives documenting Osama's secret obsession. Invoices, emails, and bank statements--all under a multitude of aliases--make up just a fraction of the new information gleaned on the bizarre findings. "It makes no sense," director of the CIA, Leon Panetta said in an interview on MSNBC, "He despised the consumer cultural of the West! Why would he spend millions bidding on Walmart gift cards and Apple computers?" Speculation remains as to whether or not Osama ever received the items he won, but officials believe its possible that one of his beloved couriers transported to the packages to his hidden location. Leon Panetta summed up his interview by saying, "The more we learn about the guy, the more questions we have. However, I think it's fair to say that bin Laden wasn't just an evil man, but a f'n weirdo too."
