Cain angered by satire piece, calls it an example of “media gone wild”

11/28/2011 8:30 PM Alyson Durden - Apparently we can add satire to the list of things Herman Cain does not understand. The candidate had what only can be described as a hissy fit when he was handed a copy of Pardon the Pundit, a political satire magazine published in the nation’s capital.

“What the flipping hell does it mean that I am a satirical art project? I don’t understand this, I thought that’s what my secret service detail was supposed to protect me from. When I sat down with those nice folks, I thought they were there to clean my hat, not ask me questions while hypnotized,” the candidate was overheard telling his Chief Operating Officer of logistics (otherwise called ‘advance’).

The day only got worse as he requested past issues of the magazine and saw that this was not the first time his campaign was written about.

“And look here, Lindsay Lohan and Silvio Burlusconi are still important parts of my campaign. I check with both of them daily for advice on everything, from what I am going to wear, to what states I am going to visit. Throughout this campaign I have made it clear, I only surround myself with the best. No one can find a good party like Lindsay. Obama made a mistake when he snubbed her,” Cain told reporters in Hawaii. “And I never sent in a tape for the X-Factor, it was American Idol. I can do a mean cover of Britney Spears’ ‘Hit me baby one more time!’”

When asked why he was making campaign stops in states like Hawaii, which drain campaign resources for very little political gain, Cain snapped back, “If Obama can come here, well then, so can I!”
