Romney says “start packing” remark was gaffe, meant he's taking Obama on vacation
Facebook Facebook Facebook Facebook Facebook Facebook
4/17/2012 9:44 AM Matt Rock - The GOP's presumptive nominee, Mitt Romney, who recently spoke with Diane Sawyer in an interview, has stated today that yet again, his “words have been twisted” and that his real intentions with a public comment he made have been taken out of context by the mainstream media. Romney claims that his statement that President Obama should “start packing” had nothing to do with the campaign, but that he actually intends to take him on a vacation in June.

“I'm not going to beat President Obama. I think that's pretty obvious to everyone, isn't it?” Romney stated over the phone. “What Sawyer cut from that interview, though, is that I'm inviting the President on a vacation in June. I'm paying for it and everything. I'm hoping that after handing me a butt-whooping in November, he might consider giving me a cabinet position, like he did for Hillary [Clinton].”

“Liberals think I'm a rich jerkwad, conservatives think I'm too liberal, and moderates just think I'm a huge douche,” Romney continued. “I'm sort of like Ron Paul here, when you think about it. I realize I'm going to get my ass handed to me in an Easter basket, but I'm here to raise issues. The wealthy are a minority that are marginalized and offended on a daily basis. With me in the Obama administration, I can maybe turn some of that around.”

Romney wouldn't specify where the vacation might take him and the leader of the free world. “I don't really know where commoners vacation. He's poor, I mean he only has a few million bucks, you know? If I woke up with Obama's money tomorrow, I'd kill myself. One of my sons saw a man named Christopher Rock saying that on television once, and I adopted it for myself! See? I really am a human that enjoys funny people jokes! It's probably too little, too late though.”
